I can't speak of
their BGP4 network as I'm on the IRC section,
but here's my overview;
The IRC network is
mainly (entirely?) cogent bandwidth, so your speed
will obviously vary depending on your location
based on peers with the cogent network. Overall
it seems fairly good. DoS attacks used to be a
big problem and the network would go down often
for extended periods of time, but more recently
they apparently received a router upgrade and
the network has been infinately better. Most DoS
attacks don't have much of an effect and are generally
completely blocked within 15 minutes - this is
something they've really improved on and I'm very
pleased.
The hardware used
in their dedicated servers isn't as high-end as
I'd like (I hate it, SiS may be cheap, but, well,
it's cheap. I hate it I hate it I hate it.), I
recently had a NIC fail, which lead to a motherboard
failing, which lead to a CPU failing. It took
over 5 hours to get everything resolved. Support
response times really vary depending whos shift
it is - some guys are really quick (Luke has been
great at taking care of things very quickly),
some are really slow. Unfortunately my rep was
of the slower variety when this particular disaster
hit, the sales staff really doesn't seem to care
either. - It's hard to run a company, some employees
give you a good name, others .. don't.
Overall I'd say they're
fair, tho I'd really prefer quicker response times
for support tickets. FDC is ok, could be better
(support response times & hardware hardware
hardware. God damn I HATE SIS...), could be worse.
