I have used HighSpeedWeb
Web Hosting for a couple years in the past. I opted
for their Virtual Hosting Special. The special claims
to end everynight at 12 midnight. I found this isn't
the case, and over the past few years the special has
changed with the flucuation in the web hosting industry
as well. The setup time was virtually instant, and the
control panel was diferent than anything I had every
expierenced. They use a custom web hosting control panel
called Speed Control©. Details of Speed Control©:
The Web Control allows members to maintain and update
their account themselves, allowing immediate creation
and modification of: » E-mail Aliases, »
mySQL Databases, » Sub Domains, » Password
Protected Directoires, » FTP Accounts, »
Auto Responders, » Change their password, »
Check their e-mail, » View their access logs,
» File Management (upload, rename, and organize
files)., » Plus much more! The control panel is
like a light version of 'cPanel'. It is not as graphical,
and has all the options on the left hand side instead
of the center of the screen when you login. The web
hosting control panel is user friendly, and doesn't
really have any learning curve. While I was with HighSpeedWeb
I never expierenced any server downtime. If it did go
down it was such a short time I didn't miss any e-mails,
and had none of my visitors complain. What brought me
to HighSpeedWeb originally was that you could pay a
small yearly fee, and then you could forget about hosting
for a year. For $50 a year (Minimal Viritual Special)
I received 800mb of space, and 10gb of transfer per-month.
(This plan may have changed now.) The only problem that
I thought I would run into was the data transfer limit,
and the cost they charge for overage. They want $5/gb
for overusing the bandwidth, this is pretty expensive
when compared with other web hosting providers. Overall
HighSpeedWeb helped me when I needed it, provided great
uptime, and also they have resources available for free
for webmasters.
